Two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders have increased England opener Jason Roy’s base fee from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2.8 crore for the 2023 IPL season. KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer is no longer available due to a minor back injury and Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has also pulled out of the league.
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has accepted that he will not be available for this season, according to a statement released by the IPL on Wednesday. Shreyas Iyer has also been disqualified from the competition.
When did Jason Roy last play?

According to Cricbuzz website, the Bangladesh all-rounder has officially informed KKR of his ineligibility for the IPL 2023 season. According to Cricbuzz, his absence from the league, which is in its first week, is believed to be due to personal problems and international obligations.
Shakib will be the only player unavailable until April 10 apart from Bangladesh wicketkeeper Liton Das, who is a member of the national team competing in the current one-off Test against Ireland.
KKR skipper Iyer is suffering from a nerve injury due to a bulging disc in the right lower back. He has been battling injury since his return from the Bangladesh series in December 2022. Iyer missed the white-ball series against Sri Lanka in January and the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in February, despite having almost six injections. Although he came back to play in the next two Tests of the Australia series, he was eventually disqualified from the game, after not batting in the opening innings of the last Test in Ahmedabad.
Shah Rukh Khan-owned Nitish Rana replaced Iyer as the captain of KKR for the 2023 IPL season. In their first match of the season in Mohali, KKR had to face defeat against Punjab Kings.
Nitish Rana’s team will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday at the famous Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. Roy has played for England in 64 T20Is and has a strike rate of 137.61. Jason Roy has played in 116 ODIs at an average of 39.91 and a strike rate of over 105.
