Mitchell Marsh is an Australian all-rounder who was born on 20 October 1991 in Attadale, Western Australia. He is the son of former Australian cricketer Geoff Marsh and brother of Shaun Marsh. Mitchell Marsh is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. He made his debut for Western Australia in 2009 and for Australia in 2011.

Marsh’s early days in international cricket were mixed, with his performances being inconsistent. However, his true potential was realized during the 2015 World Cup when he played a key role in Australia’s victory.

He scored 382 runs at 63.66 and also took six wickets at 27.33. He was named player of the match in the final against New Zealand, where he scored 29 runs off just 21 balls and took 2/24 in his 9 overs.

Marsh’s ability to contribute with both bat and ball made him an integral part of the Australian team. He played a key role in the Test series against India in 2014–15, where he took his career best figures of 4/61 in the second innings of the Second Test in Brisbane. He also scored 99 in the Third Test at Melbourne, where he fell short of his maiden Test century.

Marsh suffered a lot of injuries during his career, due to which he had to be in and out of the team. He missed the entire 2017–18 season due to a shoulder injury, but made a strong comeback the following season. In the 2019 World Cup, he scored 382 runs at 63.66 and took six wickets at 27.33. He was the third highest run-scorer for Australia in the tournament.

Marsh was also a key member of the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. He was instrumental in their success, where he scored 1,261 runs at 25.22 and took 42 wickets at 27.28. He was named player of the match in the 2017–18 final against the Hobart Hurricanes, where he scored 38 off just 25 balls and took 2/16 in his 4 overs.
