Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan is regarded as one of the most talented all-rounders the country has ever produced.

Pathan, who was born on October 27, 1984 in Baroda, Gujarat, made his international debut for India in December 2003 and has played for his country in all three formats.

Irfan Pathan was born in a cricket family. His elder brother, Yusuf Pathan, later played for the Indian cricket team. His father, Mahmood Khan Pathan, was a former club cricketer.

Early on, Pathan’s talent was recognised, and at the age of 10, he was accepted into the Kiran More Cricket Academy in Baroda.

Irfan Pathan made a name for himself as one of India’s best all-rounders during his career.

He was a good left-arm fast bowler who could swing the ball both ways, as well as a useful middle-order batsman. He was named player of the match in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 final against Pakistan, taking three wickets and contributing significantly to India’s victory.
