Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma crossed the ‘milestone’ by becoming the fourth player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to score 6,000 runs.
Rohit reached this milestone in the IPL 2023 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday. The right-handed hitter reached the milestone when he hit a square cut boundary off spinner Washington Sundar for 14.
On 28, SRH left-armer T Natarajan edged the ball towards mid-off to Rohit when he was caught by Aiden Markram. Rohit now has a total of 6014 IPL runs in 231 matches with one century and 41 half-centuries.
Former RCB captain Virat Kohli tops the list with 6844 runs in 228 matches. Along with this, he also scored five centuries and 47 half-centuries.
Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan is second with 6477 runs in 210 matches, followed by Delhi Capitals captain David Warner with 6109 runs in 167 matches.
