IPL 2023: In the current season of IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Brian Lara has blamed his batsmen for the sixth defeat. He said that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) did not defeat him but he himself. Sunrisers Hyderabad faced a target of 172 runs, but they lost the match by five runs. Now they are ninth out of ten teams while KKR are eighth.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Brian Lara told the press conference after the match that ‘we lost wickets in the powerplay from which we could not recover. We told Heinrich Klaasen to handle the innings. He comes in at number six and before him there are five great players. It was tough for Heinrich Klaasen.

Brian Lara said, ‘There should be a way to win such matches on pitches that are helpful for the batsmen, but we could not win. We have to focus on partnerships. Being aggressive is a good thing, but it is also necessary to stay and play to win the match.

Brian Lara praised KKR spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakraborty and said, ‘They are excellent spinners. We have seen that the role of spinners is important in the tournament. Spinners like Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy are world class. We were in the match, but we lost the match ourselves.

KKR spinner Chakravarthy said that his strategy of prodding the Sunrisers batsmen to hit long shots towards the boundary was successful. Varun Chakraborty said, ‘There was a lot of pressure, but Nitish was telling me only one thing that tempt him to play like Seemarekha. We did the same and got this important victory.
