Former Indian cricket great Sachin Tendulkar has arrived in Hyderabad for the much-awaited Formula One race. The city is hosting a Formula One event for the first time in India at a street circuit set up at Hussain Sagar and NTR Marg.

The race is the fourth round of the ninth season, and 11 teams and 22 drivers will compete for the top spot.

Indian companies Mahindra, Tata and TCS will join the competitors. The circuit measures 2.8 km and has 18 turns, and has been arranged with a seating capacity of 20,000 spectators.

The qualifying round took place this morning, with the main race starting at 3pm and expected to last an hour and a half.

Many celebrities and VIPs are in attendance including KTR, Ram Charan, Sachin Tendulkar, Namrata Shirodkar, Nara Brahmani and Lakshmi Pranati. The highly anticipated event marks the first motor sport event in the last ten years, and excitement is in the air.
